An “Independence Eve” celebration will be held in Yuma on Sunday, July 3, at the City of Yuma’s Jeff Armstrong Ball Park complex.
The fun begins at 5 p.m., and concludes later that evening with the Yuma Volunteer Fire Department presenting the fireworks show after sunset.
Participants can bring their own alcohol, but it can only be consumed inside the ball park complex from 5 to 9 p.m., and of course only by those 21 years or older.
There will be sno-cones and cotton candy, Corn Hole, soccer (futbol) and other family games.
Kids from Momentum Danceworks will perform at 5 p.m.
A pie eating contest will be held at 5:30 p.m.
A complementary community dinner will be served at 6.
El Dorado Band will provide live music from 6 to 9 p.m.
All you sluggers bring your big sticks as there will be a Home Run Derby at 7.
Joining with the city in sponsoring the event are Shop-All Super Foods, Bank of Colorado, Smithfield, Premier Farm Credit and Quality Farm & Ranch Center.
